MLS club Inter Miami lost to Monterrey in the first quarterfinal match of the CONCACAF Champions Cup on April 3 in Fort Lauderdale with a score of 1:2. Messi was left out of the game due to a hamstring injury. The return match will take place on April 10 on the field of the Mexican team.
An audio recording has leaked online in which Sanchez talks about the brawl after the match involving Messi and Inter head coach Gerardo Martino, which occurred near the guests' locker room.
“»The dwarf was possessed, he had the face of the devil. He put his fist in my face and asked: “Who do you think you are?” I did not look in his direction and did not answer anything, but this only provoked him. And Martino stood in front of me and said: “Hey, fool, are you going to cry?” Sanchez recalls.
Sanchez later posted an apology to Martino on social networks, but did not mention Messi in it.
