MOSCOW, April 11 Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Alex Pereira, who is the current holder of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight belt, broke the record of former Cameroonian heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou for punching power, mmamania.com reports.
Pereira's fight against former division champion American Jamal Hill will be the main event of the 300th UFC tournament, which will take place on April 13 in Las Vegas.
It is reported that Pereira scored 191,796 points by hitting a special PowerKube simulator. Ngannou's record was 129,161 points and was set by him in 2018. At the beginning of 2024, American UFC middleweight Joe Pifer posted a video on his social networks in which he surpassed the record of the former UFC heavyweight champion on PowerKube. He scored 170,218 points on the simulator.
Pereira is 36 years old, his record is nine wins and two losses. He previously held the title in the middle division. He is only the ninth fighter in UFC history to become the organization's champion in two weight categories.
