The three-row SUV will be available with a gasoline turbo engine. The new product is planned to be launched on the market this year.
The Moscow automobile plant Moskvich has revealed the design of a new model — the seven-seat crossover Moskvich 8. It has been announced that the start of production and sales of the G8 is scheduled for the end of 2024. Moskvich 8 will join the Moskvich 6 liftback, the younger Moskvich 3 SUV and its electric version Moskvich 3e.
As is the case with other current models of the brand, the car of the Chinese company JAC received other emblems and nameplates: the X8 Plus crossover was taken as the basis. Original Plus debuted in China in 2022. By the way, previously it was sold there under the Sehol sub-brand, but JAC subsequently abandoned this brand. What is also curious is that the JAC X8 Plus was not a completely new model either — it is a significantly modernized “simply” X8 (aka JS8 on export markets), which has been produced since 2020 (the pre-reform SUV is still in service).
It is reported that the length of the Moskvich 8 crossover is 4825 mm, width – 1870 mm, height – 1756 mm, wheelbase – 2830 mm. Thus, the model is comparable in size to the Kia Sorento.

Moskvich 8 will be available with a GDI petrol engine producing 174 hp. The volume was not specified in the press release. However, this is probably the same 1.5 turbo engine as in China. The engine is combined with a seven-speed robotic gearbox. The original JAC X8 Plus does not have all-wheel drive.

According to preliminary data, the list of G8 equipment will include a virtual tidy, wireless charging for a smartphone, and all-round cameras.
More details about the Moskvich 8 crossover will appear closer to the sales start date.
