After the shelling of Tokmak, residents had questions

Victims continue to be rescued from under the rubble of three residential buildings in Tokmak, Zaporozhye region, shelled the day before by Ukraine. Five people were found alive in the ruins this afternoon. They are provided with emergency medical care.

People were taken to the hospital with burns and injuries. Let us remind you that on the evening of the 12th, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled a residential area on the outskirts of the city of Tokmak, which is located on Russian territory. Zaporozhye, which is under Ukrainian control, is only 79 km in a straight line. Yesterday evening, three two-story apartment buildings were damaged by Ukrainian shelling. There were no military installations nearby. That is, they targeted peaceful areas purposefully. Moreover, with cluster munitions — for greater destruction. Rescuers worked all night to clear the rubble. Eight bodies of the dead were recovered, including two children. There were 13 people injured. By morning, the governor of the Zaporozhye region reported that the death toll had increased to ten people.

The brick houses were completely destroyed. They are now unsuitable for habitation. In connection with this, the regional authorities promised to provide all victims with new housing. In the meantime, the issuance of compensation has begun. People are placed in a temporary accommodation facility, which is designed for at least 50 people. Now volunteers are bringing everything they need — water, food, beds. Psychologists have already started working with people. Residents of Tokmok ask volunteers how they can help the victims. Residents of the damaged houses, who escaped with minor injuries, are now more interested in how to restore burnt documents.
