Angry pink pony: 715-horsepower Manhart MH2 GTR II coupe based on the current BMW M2

German tuning studio Manhart Performance continues to pump up the muscles of the second-generation BMW M2 coupe G87: following the 560-horsepower coupe Manhart MH2 560 presents a much more extreme sports car, the Manhart MH2 GTR II, in which the in-line 3.0-liter petrol twin-turbo six S58 is boosted to 715 hp. and 850 Nm.

The current BMW M2 of the G87 generation made its world premiere in October 2022, in the same month the Manhart Performance studio from Wuppertal announced its own version of this model – the Manhart MH2 560, this car was shown live last February. This week saw the premiere of the even more extreme Manhart MH2 GTR II coupe, the Roman II indicates that the tuner's portfolio includes a Manhart MH2 GTR coupe based on the first generation BMW M2 F87.

The S55 engine on the “first” Manhart MH2 GTR was boosted from stock 450 hp. and 550 Nm to 600 hp. and 830 Nm, and last year the Manhart studio presented an even more “brutal” MH2 700 coupe based on the F87 generation BMW M2, in which the engine output was increased to 715 hp. and 815 Nm. The German tuners managed to extract more from the S58 engine of the new BMW M2: in stock it produces 460 hp. and 650 Nm, under the hood of the Manhart MH2 GTR II – 715 hp and 850 Nm.

Output is increased due to a new control program, as well as new intake and exhaust systems. All power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an 8-speed hydromechanical ZF automatic transmission. The tuner does not say how doping for the engine affected the usual dynamic performance; the standard BMW M2 G87 in the “automatic” mode reaches the first “hundred” in 4.1 seconds, the maximum speed is 285 km/h. From 100 km/h to 200 km/h the tuning coupe accelerates in 5.76 seconds.
