Sales of the new, sixth generation Subaru Forester crossover are about to start in the USA – configurations and prices have already been announced. However, the brand is in no hurry to introduce the “sixth” SUV to other markets. Well, to maintain interest in the previous model, the manufacturer releases new configurations and special versions: almost simultaneously, special crosses were presented in Japan and Germany. Let's start with the homeland of Subaru.
In Japan, a new version appeared in the “sportier” Forester STI Sport, it was called Black Interior Selection. As you might guess, this crossover has an almost completely black interior (the “just” STI Sport has a dark gray trim and burgundy inserts): the seats are upholstered in nappa leather with silver stitching, and the front panel is trimmed in black leather. The car itself can be painted in the exclusive Offshore Blue Metallic color. In addition, the list of equipment was supplemented by a salon mirror with a built-in screen.

Meanwhile, the new addition also went to the special Forester X-Edition and XT-Edition already sold in their homeland – their palette of body colors was supplemented by the Geyser Blue shade, like the American “off-road” Forester Wilderness (this option has not yet been transferred to the new generation).
In the home market, the Subaru Forester STI Sport Black Interior Selection and XT-Edition are available with a 1.8 turbo engine producing 177 hp. In other versions, the model has a hybrid e-Boxer installation, which includes an aspirated 2.0 (145 hp) and an electric motor (14 hp). All cars have Lineatronic CVT and all-wheel drive. The price of the new modification is from 3,850,000 yen, which is equivalent to approximately 2,360,000 rubles at the current exchange rate.

The Germans have access to two special versions. One of them is also “black”, it is called Edition Black Platinum. They darkened both the interior and the entire exterior decor, including the window trim. This Subaru Forester also has original 18-inch wheels, an emblem with the name of the special version and special floor mats. The Edition Black Platinum version is made on the basis of the top-end configuration, so the list of equipment also includes leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, heated all seats, a Harman/Kardon audio system and a full set of electronic assistants.

The second special version was already in the range of the German Forester – the Edition Exclusive Cross was returned to the price list. The features of this option are orange inserts on the outside and inside. Well, this crossover is also devoid of chrome. The Subaru Forester Edition Exclusive Cross arsenal includes water-repellent seat upholstery, a multimedia system with a navigator, dual-zone climate control, a keyless entry system, heated front seats, a rear view camera.

In Germany, the crossover has a 2.0 petrol engine with 150 hp. and a 17 hp electric motor, all-wheel drive is already standard. For the Subaru Forester Edition Black Platinum they ask for a minimum of 46,450 euros (about 4.67 million rubles), the price of the Edition Exclusive Cross is from 44,390 euros (4.46 million rubles).
