The current generation GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs debuted in 2020 – these are more expensive analogues of the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. Chevy models underwent restyling at the end of 2023, and now it’s the turn of their siblings: the first teaser has been published. By the way, this year both families went into the red: according to the results of the first quarter, 18,013 GMC Yukon SUVs were sold in the USA (-9%), the result of the Chevrolet Tahoe was 23,324 units. (-14%), Suburban – 9684 units. (-30%).

Judging by the picture, the Yukon will receive new, more compact headlights, while retaining the LED C-shaped running lights. The teaser shows the off-road version of the AT4 – it will have the original (and also new) radiator grille and bumpers. The rest of the versions will obviously get the same set of modifications adjusted for style – for example, the top-end Yukon Denali will probably be distinguished by abundant chrome trim.
In the cabin, the instrumentation and multimedia system will probably be replaced, plus The all-terrain vehicle will have different finishing materials. Well, we also need to expand the list of available equipment.

Following the Chevy Tahoe, the GMC Yukon SUV should switch to an upgraded in-line six-cylinder 3.0 Duramax turbodiesel with an output of 309 hp. and 671 Nm (the current engine produces 281 hp and 623 Nm). Gasoline engines are expected to remain the same: these are naturally aspirated V8 5.3 (360 hp) and V8 6.2 (426 hp). All engines are combined with a ten-speed automatic transmission. “Simple” versions of Yukon have rear-wheel drive, while expensive versions have all-wheel drive with a reduction gear.
The updated SUV will make its full premiere later this year.
Meanwhile, earlier General Motors has announced plans to turn GMC into a global brand. So, now the brand’s models are available in North America and some countries of the Middle East, plus a representative office was opened in Korea last year. In 2024, GMC cars will also appear in China, and in 2025 the brand will be introduced to the markets of Australia and New Zealand. So, the release dedicated to the restyled GMC Yukon says that this SUV will become one of the “world” models.
