MOSCOW, April 13 The son of People's Artist of the RSFSR Yuri Kuklachev, Honored Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Kuklachev Cat Theater Dmitry Kuklachev said that the artist feels better and gives advice on how to continue holding the anniversary show “The Kindest Clown” at Vegas City Hall without his participation, so that it continues.
Previously, the artist’s representative Olga Cardokiene reported that all remaining performances of Kuklachev’s anniversary show “The Kindest Clown” at Vegas City Hall on April 13 and 14 will take place, the line-up of artists will remain the same, but without Kuklachev’s participation.
< br />Kuklachev fell ill on Friday at his anniversary concert “The Kindest Clown” at the Vegas City Hall; he was taken away in an ambulance with heart complaints, the artist’s son said. The general director of the Great Moscow Circus on Vernadsky Avenue, Edgard Zapashny, reported that Kuklachev is in serious but stable condition, he has a massive heart attack.
“He’s already feeling better, literally half an hour ago I talked to him. He was handing out the control instructions, what to change in the program so that the show would continue. I told him: “Dad, calm down, get well, everything will be fine,” said Dmitry Kuklachev.
He noted that the quality of the performance will not suffer, despite the absence of Kuklachev in it.
In addition, the artist’s son recalled that funds from the performances will be sent to the Muslim Magomayev Foundation to help victims of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall on March 22.
< br />The circus show “The Kindest Clown” at Vegas City Hall is dedicated to Kuklachev’s 75th birthday. Performances are scheduled for April 12-14.
Russian clown and trainer, People's Artist of the RSFSR Kuklachev was born on April 12, 1949. Since 1967 he performed at the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. In 1971 he graduated from the State School of Circus and Variety Arts. Since 1990 he has run his own theater of trained cats. He became the first Russian director of circus acts with trained cats. The theater has received many international awards, including the Gold Cup and the title of «The Most Original Theater in the World», received during its Paris tour. The life and work of Yuri Kuklachev are dedicated to the documentaries “With a Kind Smile” (1980, directed by Yuri Dubravin) and “The Cat and the Clown” (1984, Sergei Vologdin).
