The Central District Court of Novosibirsk on Monday sentenced the now former leaders of the Meshalkin clinic, found guilty of embezzling 1.8 billion from the federal budget.

< p>In the dock were the former head of the clinic Alexander Karaskov, his wife Irina Boytsova, as well as businessmen Evgeny Pervushin and Alexander Sorokin, who participated in the criminal scheme.

According to the investigation, the management of the clinic carried out fraud with supplies to the medical institution expensive equipment. The formal tenders were in fact tailored to the participants in the cartel conspiracy.

As a result, Karaskov was sentenced to three and a half years in a general regime colony and a fine of 800 thousand rubles. Fighting – three years of imprisonment and a fine of half a million. The businessmen were sent to a general regime colony for 4.6 and 4.4 years.
