VLADIVOSTOK, April 15 Nineteen natural fires on a total area of ​​578.7 hectares were extinguished within 24 hours in the Primorsky Territory, a representative of the region’s Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations said.
“In just one day, 19 natural fires were extinguished on a total area of ​​578.7 hectares. In Popovka, Khorolsky District, a fire was extinguished on an area of ​​200 hectares; near the village of Dukhovskoye, Border District, two fires with a total area of ​​80 hectares were extinguished; in the area of ​​Nikitovka and Luchegorsk (Pozharsky District) “we extinguished two fires on 39 hectares,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

He added that natural fires were extinguished near two villages in the Chuguevsky district on 39 hectares, in the area of ​​two settlements in the Partizansky district on a total area of ​​33 hectares, as well as near Chernigovka and Abrazheevka (Chernigovsky district).
““One natural fire was extinguished in eight settlements in eight municipalities of Primorye,” he said, adding that 213 people and 45 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing.
Last week, a high alert regime was introduced in Primorye to prevent wildfires, with the exception of the Nadezhdinsky district and Shkotovsky district, where a state of emergency is already in effect. On Monday, forecasters reported that over the past weekend, the fire danger situation in Primorye worsened; in most areas, the fire danger class increased to 4, high.
