    In the Kurgan region, more than 13.5 thousand people were evacuated due to flooding

    CHELYABINSK, April 17 More than 13.5 thousand people were evacuated on April 17 from settlements in the Kurgan region, where water came, and from areas at risk of flooding, reported press service of the regional government.
    As the city administration reported, at 08.00 (06.00 Moscow time) Monday the water level rose to 631 centimeters, at 08.00 (06.00 Moscow time) Tuesday – to 742 centimeters. The Ural Hydrometeorological Center predicted a continued rise in water in the Tobol River near Kurgan until April 18. The water level exceeded the “adverse phenomenon” (700 centimeters) and “dangerous phenomenon” (850 centimeters) marks.
    “As of 08.00 (06.00 Moscow time) on April 17, 13,567 people were evacuated from settlements where water had already arrived, and settlements at risk of flooding,” the message says.
