And this could be one of the serious contributions of the Russian side to the joint Russian-Chinese project,» Borisov said at a lecture for students, cadets and students at the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics in Kaluga.
He explained that the lunar night lasts approximately 14 Earth days. It is impossible to ensure the operation of electrical appliances for such a long time in the shade only by charging solar panels during the day.
Earlier, Borisov said that Roscosmos, together with Chinese colleagues, is considering the delivery and installation of a nuclear power plant on the surface of the Moon in 2033-2035.
