MOSCOW, April 19 The main topic of the Eastern Economic Forum in 2024 will be the technologies of the future, in addition, the agenda will include problematic issues , including those related to the work of the Eastern railway range and the shortage of generating capacity in the Far East by 2030, said Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
«Work on the forum is at the very, very beginning… We want to dedicate this forum to the technologies of the future. I am confident that a country that lags behind in technology in today's world situation, when relations between countries are already moving more than anything else into the mode of using force, will lag behind in technology simply cannot. Therefore, we need to understand what we can do, we need to understand what we need to learn. The Far East has every opportunity to take on a significant part of this work. And I think it will be very right to talk about this at the next forum,” — Trutnev told reporters.
He noted that there are a number of issues that will definitely be included on the forum’s agenda.
«This is the work of the Eastern Test Site, on which the economy of our entire country depends today. This is energy, because we thought here that by 2030 we simply would not have enough electricity for new projects. Everyone once told us that you — the main tank, attract investments, everything will be fine, tariffs will go down. No, they have not gone down anywhere, and in addition, there is a very obvious threat of a shortage of electricity. We need new generating capacities of the system,” the Deputy Prime Minister clarified.
The Eastern Economic Forum in 2024 will be held on September 3-6 at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok.
