Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Perm Territory Alexey Demkin leaves his position after his son’s statements provoked a scandal on social networks. As Kommersant writes, information about the official’s dismissal was confirmed by the press service of the regional government, as well as by Demkin personally.

Earlier, the official’s son Ilya published a video on social networks, recorded on the Indonesian island of Bali, and stated that I don’t intend to return.

"Why the hell do I need Perm?" — said the man in the video, showing the beauty of tropical nature.

Mash wrote that Demkin Jr. left Russia in March 2022.

Demkin Sr. told reporters that he realizes " “I take full responsibility for my son’s statement,” so I thought it was right to write a statement of my own free will. He also thanked his “colleagues from the government for the valuable experience of working together.”

Since 2021, Demkin was the head of Perm, then left the post of his own free will. Started working in the government in mid-2023. After his dismissal, his duties will be performed by another deputy chairman of the government, Alexey Borisov.
