MOSCOW, April 19Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted the participants, organizers and guests of the 46th Moscow International Film Festival, noting the rich competition program of the event; the corresponding telegram was published on the Kremlin website.
The Moscow International Film Festival opens in the Russian capital for the 46th time on April 19 and will last until April 26.

I welcome you to the 46th Moscow International Film Festival – one of the oldest in the world… I am sure that thanks to the rich competition program, the legendary traditions of hospitality and cordiality, the festival will be held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, will help strengthen professional, business, personal contacts, popularization modern achievements of cinematography,” the message says.
In addition, the president noted that the festival can rightfully be considered a festive event in the cultural life of Russia. Thanks to its “high humanistic mission,” the event brings together venerable filmmakers and those who are starting their journey in art. The festival gives young talented directors, actors, screenwriters and artists the opportunity to present their first creative works to an authoritative jury.
