In hatred of Russia, the head of the IOC has surpassed all limits of decency . At night, the final episode of the Thomas Bach prank by pranksters Vovan and Lexus was released. There, the official prayed after the imaginary African politician for the cancellation of the Friendship Games. This have not happened before!
“Influence governments” Previously, Bach had already discussed with an “influential politician from Africa,” into whom prankster Vladimir Kuznetsov (Vovan) had remade himself, Russia’s intention to hold the Friendship Games. The official position of the IOC on this matter is as follows: this event is politicized, participants in the Olympic movement and the governments of all countries were advised to refuse to support it. Bach did not directly threaten sanctions for participation in the Friendship Games, but the President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Witold Banka, spoke about them — although without specifying what they might consist of.
But the IOC President said much more to the pranksters .
““These are the games of the President of Russia and the Russian government. If you, with your authority, could influence the governments of states from your continent, we would be very grateful,” Bach told the “African politician” during the first episode of their communication. “Athletes must realize that by taking part in the Friendship Games they are taking sides.» And when Bach’s interlocutor asked what risks might be involved in this case, he answered: “Say, (in relation to) the Olympic Games.”

Bach, at the end of the conversation with the imaginary African tycoon, promised him to organize a meeting with the Vice-President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, who is responsible for sports in the EU, in order to agree on a common statement regarding the Friendship Games. And he kept his word. At the appointed hour, Bach and Schinas saw Vovan, made up, sitting against the backdrop of a shelf with books and Cheburashka on it. But they still didn’t guess anything.
“After our meeting today, I plan to support the IOC statement exposing the political motivation of this initiative and invite national Olympic committees not to participate in this,” Schinas noted in the conversation, after which Bach added that it is even more important to address such an appeal to governments.
Poured a glass of vodka. The discussion then raised the topic of participation of Russian athletes in the Olympics, during which Bach complained that he was accused of Nazism for the IOC’s position. But the main thing came at the end: the “African politician” suggested praying to “Saints Vovan and Lexus” to prevent the Friendship Games. Both the IOC President and the Vice-President of the European Commission obediently repeated the mantra after Vladimir Kuznetsov, after which Schinas even added: “Now that we have divine inspiration, nothing can go wrong.”
And then the masks were dropped: the “politician from Africa” accused Bach and Schinas of trying to enter into an agreement, poured a glass of vodka, showed the skeleton of Yorick and took Cheburashka from the shelf. Only after this did high-ranking officials realize that they had been scammed and, laughing, disconnected from the video conference.
But the IOC President clearly did not remain in a cheerful mood for very long. After talking with the pranksters, he had to make a number of official statements. Including the fact that his organization, contrary to the fundamental principle of “sport is outside of politics,” is engaged in this very politics. And listen to the statement that in this whole story the IOC has taken a completely one-sided position — again, contrary to claims of neutrality.
So, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova emphasized on Channel One “the extreme degree of politicization of Bach as a functionary,” noting that «there is a conspiracy.»

The organization's press service reported a few weeks ago that Bach was attacked by pranksters, but has not given any substantive comments since then. Which, in principle, is expected — everything that is possible has already been said. And it’s done: praying to the “African saints” to prevent the Friendship Games means completely reaching the point of failure. As they say, it would be funny if it weren’t so sad.
