Smoke is visible in dramatic footage. engulfing the plane after a loud explosion can be heard when a tire explodes. The plane then proceeds to screech down the runway before coming to a stop.
The FlySafair flight had just lifted off the ground to begin the two-hour flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town on Sunday when ground staff ordered it to happen. when they noticed damage to the plane's landing gear.
After being notified, the pilots made a low pass over the runway so engineers could inspect the damage from the ground, where they noticed that one of the plane's four rear wheels had been clipped during takeoff.

No one was injured during the flight incident, and all passengers were safely evacuated.

This was the last incident involving a Boeing aircraft, and it occurred just a month after a similar incident in which a United Airlines flight lost a wheel while taking off from San Francisco.
Boeing declined to comment on the FlySafair incident. , telling The New York Post that the airline has its own fleet.
