“We will thank you in the release”: Esmantovich commented on Fedotov’s dismissal

MOSCOW, April 23, Sergei Fuks. CSKA President Igor Esmantovich stated that the capital's hockey club will thank former head coach Sergei Fedorov in a release that will be published after the end of the specialist's contract.
The Supervisory Board of CSKA decided in March not to renew the contract with Fedorov, which expires on April 30, 2024. Ilya Vorobyov was appointed the new head coach of the team. The club's statement about the reshuffle did not express any words of gratitude to Fedorov.

Fedorov took charge of CSKA in 2021, under his leadership the team won the Gagarin Cup twice. The specialist was recognized as the best coach of the season in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) for two years in a row. In the current Gagarin Cup, CSKA lost to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the first round series.
