The Supervisory Board of CSKA decided in March not to renew the contract with Fedorov, which expires on April 30, 2024. Ilya Vorobyov was appointed the new head coach of the team. The club's statement about the reshuffle did not express any words of gratitude to Fedorov.

Fedorov took charge of CSKA in 2021, under his leadership the team won the Gagarin Cup twice.
