At the Beijing Auto Show, the premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr, owned by the Geely holding, presented its fifth model — a single-volume compact van Mix on the platform SEA-M, which allows you to implement steering by wire.
The Zeekr brand was launched in 2021, its first four models — the Zeekr 001 liftback, the Zeekr X hatchback, the Zeekr 007 sedan and the Zeekr 009 minivan — turned out to be very successful, so far Zeekr sales are growing and delight Geely management: in the first quarter of this year in China , according to CAAM, 33,059 Zeekr electric vehicles were sold, which is 117% more than sales in January-March 2023. Zeekr's foreign career is also gaining momentum: in large Russian cities, Zeekr «trains» are becoming more and more common, although this brand is not yet officially represented in our country.

The fifth Zeekr model will be the Mix family compact van; it was shown live at the Beijing Motor Show, but this is not yet a full-fledged premiere, but a preview without technical details. Meanwhile, back in March, Zeekr Mix surfaced in the electronic database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, so some of its characteristics are already known: overall length — 4688 mm, width — 1995 mm, height — 1755 mm, wheelbase — 3008 mm. The single electric motor is located on the rear axle and produces 310 kW (422 hp), the top speed is limited to 180 km/h. Curb weight — 2625-2739 kg, depending on equipment. Standard wheels are 19 or 20 inches.

Zeekr Mix is based on the new SEA-M platform, or rather, it is another derivative of the multifaceted modular platform SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture), well known to us from other brands and models of the Geely holding, including smart, Lotus, Polestar and Volvo. The SEA-M platform is focused on compact family and commercial single-volume vehicles; the Geely holding invested nearly a billion dollars in its development.

Key features of the SEA-M platform are a very flexible interior layout due to the lack of B-pillars in the body and the ability to implement steering by wire, although the Zeekr Mix specifically has a traditional steering column. The length of the combined side door opening of the compact van reaches 1480 mm — this is longer than that of the current “heeled” Renault Kangoo, which has an opening on the right side of 1446 mm.
In fact, the Zeekr Mix actually has center pillars, they are simply integrated into the doors in the form of vertical reinforcements made of ultra-high-strength steel. Geely says that all models on the SEA-M platform will be able to achieve a top rating in IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) crash tests, and the IIHS has significantly tightened side impact for 2021.

The five-seater Zeekr Mix interior has a flat floor, the front seats, due to the absence of central pillars, can be rotated 180 degrees, and then a small living room with a table in the middle is formed in the cabin — it unfolds from a mobile cabinet-armrest, which by default is located between the front seats.
