MOSCOW, April 27 The history of the use of Abrams tanks against Russia confirms the theory of using Ukraine as a testing ground for various types of weapons of NATO countries, said Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
Earlier, the Associated Press, citing American military officials, reported that Ukraine stopped using Abrams tanks transferred to the United States due to the activity of Russian drones, which made them too vulnerable on the battlefield. In addition, the material states that the United States will now work with the Ukrainians on a “reset of tactics.” Including because the Ukrainian Armed Forces “did not accept tactics that could make tanks more effective” – the Americans tried to teach the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use Abrams in a combined arms war, where tanks act as part of an offensive system that includes artillery, infantry and aviation. < /span>
“For Western countries, NATO countries, Ukraine is needed as a laboratory testing ground – a testing ground for testing various types of weapons, their interaction in military units, developing tactics. And Abrams, by and large, they used this way way and realized that it is ineffective at this stage. Apparently, they will review its weapons, armor and, of course, tactics of use,” said Kimakovsky.
