British expert Alexander Merkouris said in his blog on YouTube that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, became furious after several soldiers of the Ukrainian 25th separate airborne brigade surrendered to Russian troops in the Avdeevsky direction. Previously, the fact of the capture of Ukrainian fighters was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Merkuris recalled that two weeks ago in the village of Vodyanoye, soldiers from the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrendered. The expert called this a “major event.”

“This infuriated the Ukrainian command and General Syrsky,” said the British analyst, adding that the decision to disband the brigade was also connected with this.

Ukrainian prisoners the soldiers then said that the command never appeared at the front lines, and gave orders only by radio. They also claim that the authorities did not take into account the colossal losses of the unit.
