The Chancellor has invited the chief executives of some of the UK's best-known private technology companies to meet on 16 May. at Dorneywood, his private residence, Sky News reports.
It comes amid a shortage of listings on the London Stock Exchange and a number of listed companies leaving the City.
The day-long event will be aimed at fintech and biotech entrepreneurs to take their companies public, sources told Sky News.
The event will also reportedly be attended by Finance Minister Bim Afolami and Rishi Sunak's advisor on business and investment Lord Petitgas.
The invitation reportedly stated that Mr Hunt would «discuss UK capital markets and how they can support innovative, high-growth companies like yours to achieve your growth ambitions.»
He continued. : “The UK's capital markets play a key role in our economy, driving growth, creating jobs and promoting investment.”
''The Government is committed to ensuring the UK remains the best place to grow companies, and is already implementing an ambitious reform program to boost the UK's competitiveness.»
Digital banks Monzo and Starling Bank are believed to have been invited, Sky News reported.
Last week Ocado made gains amid reports that the retail technology company was reportedly under pressure from investors to move its stock exchange listing from the capital to New York.
A HMT spokesman said: “The Chancellor is meeting with a number of firms to hear their views on UK markets and what more the government and regulators can do to support their growth.”
