The full-scale entry of the “tse-seventh” into the global market is scheduled for next year. According to preliminary data, the model will be available both with an internal combustion engine and as a hybrid.
The first show of the new Omoda crossover took place in China: in some countries this model will be sold under the symbol C7, and in some places it will appear as Omoda 7 or Omoda O7. Let us recall that the Omoda brand was launched by Chery in 2022 specifically for export markets, with Russia becoming one of the first countries where it appeared. The C7 SUV will join the more compact crossover Omoda C5 (this is quite an original SUV, although in China it is sold under the Chery brand) and its electric version E5, sedans Omoda S5 and Omoda S5 GT (renamed Chery Arrizo 5 Plus and Arrizo 5 GT, respectively). By the way, the Omoda C9 crossover has also been announced in South Africa, that is, the Exeed RX with a different logo and nameplates.
In the global line of the brand, the Omoda C7 cross will be a step above the C5 model. The length of the “seven” is 4621 mm, width – 1872 mm, height – 1673 mm, wheelbase – 2700 mm. Thus, in terms of its dimensions, the SUV is close to the current Toyota RAV4. For comparison, the dimensions of our version of Omoda C5: 4400/1830/1588 mm, the distance between the axles is 2630 mm.
Among the exterior design features of the C7 are traditional head optics instead of the double-decker of the “tse-fifth”, a frameless radiator grille with a mosaic pattern and rear lights located on a single plate with a “pulse” pattern. In the cabin there are separate screens for the instrument panel and multimedia system, while the second tablet can be moved towards the front passenger. However, the Omoda C7 is a prototype, albeit almost ready for production: that is, the final version of the interior may still turn out to be different.

The crossover debuted in the form of a rechargeable PHEV hybrid with an installation based on a 1.5 petrol turbo engine. At the same time, according to preliminary data, the model will also be available only with an internal combustion engine. Of course, all equipment is from Chery. More information about the filling will be revealed later.
The Omoda C7 SUV will be released on the “world” market next year. And according to the brand’s global strategy, restyling of the Omoda E5 electric cross is planned for 2025. And by 2026, the brand’s range will be complemented by another crossover – Omoda 3 (aka, apparently, Omoda C3). But there are no details about future new products yet.
As for Russia, our next Omoda premiere should be the E5 electric car. In addition, according to unofficial information, the Russian Omoda C5 SUV will soon be updated. Well, they will probably bring Omoda C7 to us too.
