LUGANSK, June 3 A resident of the LPR, who hid two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and helped them try to leave for the territory of Ukraine, has been charged with treason, the republic's prosecutor's office reported.
«The LPR prosecutor's office has checked the legality of the criminal case initiated by the investigative department of the Russian Federal Security Service under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (high treason). According to the investigative bodies, a 50-year-old local resident, acting on instructions from a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, hid two Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen from Russian authorities in her apartment,» the prosecutor's office reported.
According to the materials of the criminal case, the accused subsequently tried to help them move to Ukraine by providing them with fictitious medical documents for transporting the soldiers under the guise of sick people, as well as SIM cards from a local mobile operator. The men were detained at the border.
The LPR Prosecutor's Office recognized the initiation of a criminal case as legal and justified, and the progress of its investigation is under control.
