Alex Salmond accused the SNP of wasting its political power. legacy, allowing Labor to regain its position as Scotland's most popular party.

Labour party ahead by 10 points
In the 2019 election, Labor won 18.6% of the vote in Scotland and returned one MP, while the Scottish National Party received 45% of the vote and 48 seats.

Mr Salmond nominated Alba to stand for the 2021 Holyrood election, but she failed to win a single seat.

Alba Leader said he won't be on the July 4 ballot but confirmed he plans to stand for Holyrood in 2026 for Banffshire and the Buchan Coast.

Resuming the SNP election campaign at the weekend, John Swinney urged independence supporters not to be tempted by Alba's hard-line stance on secession.
«If you are interested in Scottish independence, don’t get distracted,” the party leader said.
“Vote for the SNP because we are the party of independence and we will get it.”
