The new Lada Iskra is officially presented: two engine options, manual and automatic

In the Lada model range, the new product will take place between Granta and Vesta. The start of mass production is scheduled for early next year.

AVTOVAZ demonstrated the compact Lada Iskra model for the first time: the premiere was held as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which opened today. The new product debuted in the form of a sedan, while there will also be a station wagon and a cross-station wagon with the Cross prefix. It was officially announced that Iskra “will occupy the market niche between Lada Granta and Lada Vesta.”

Let us remember that the new family was planned even before Renault left Russia, and it was previously believed that the Lada Iskra would replace the Granta. As reported by the AVTOVAZ press service, the Iskra is based on a modern global platform, which “has been reengineered and has become technologically independent” (the CMF-B trolley was probably reengineered). In particular, the electronic infrastructure was completely localized, and approximately 400 new parts appeared. According to Maxim Sokolov, head of the auto giant, the volume of investments in the project amounted to 23 billion rubles.

The appearance is made in the current X-style of Lada, while it was developed through optics: X- Both the headlights and taillights were made figurative. Dimensions have not yet been announced. The length of the Lada Granta sedan is 4268 mm, the wheelbase is 2476 mm.

Lada Iskra will be offered with a 1.6 petrol engine producing 90 hp. in combination with a five-speed manual, as well as with a 106-horsepower engine of the same volume, which will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission. There are no details about the last box yet — according to unofficial data, it will be a CVT.

Preparations for production of the Lada Iskra are currently underway, the model is undergoing a cycle of final tests. The start of serial production in Togliatti is scheduled for early 2025, configurations and prices will be revealed closer to this date. The Lada Granta sedan now costs from 699,900 rubles, the four-door Lada Vesta – from 1,239,900 rubles.
