The frame SUV Isuzu MU-X will be updated once again: first shots

The three-row all-terrain vehicle will have its appearance corrected, in addition, the model will have a “sportier” RS version. The technology is expected to remain the same.

The Isuzu MU-X frame SUV has been in its current generation since 2020; it is based on the Isuzu D-Max pickup truck. At the end of 2022, the passenger SUV was slightly refreshed, and last year a special version of the Phantom appeared in its production homeland of Thailand. In 2023, the sister truck D-Max was updated. So now it’s the turn of a full-fledged restyling of the MU-X: the Thai division of Isuzu has published the first teasers.

The footage shows two versions of the model. Apparently, this is a standard SUV and “sporty”, with the RS emblem. In general, there are new LED running lights in the headlights. The regular Isuzu MU-X will also get a different grille and front bumper. The MU-X RS will have an original mesh grille, and perhaps a slightly more aggressive body kit.

The interior is not illuminated yet. It is likely that the finishing materials inside will be changed. In addition, the all-terrain vehicle may be equipped with a new instrument panel and multimedia system tablet. Finally, the Isuzu MU-X may receive an improved set of electronic assistants.

But the engines are unlikely to be affected by the reform — at least, the restyled D-Max pickup did not have any technical updates. In Thailand, both models are offered with 1.9 and 3.0 turbodiesels with a capacity of 150 and 190 hp, respectively. The passenger all-terrain vehicle is available only with a six-speed automatic, while the truck also has a manual. Isuzu MU-X with a junior diesel engine is available exclusively with rear-wheel drive, for SUVs with a three-liter engine, all-wheel drive is provided.

The Thai office has not yet announced the premiere date of the updated Isuzu MU-X. Local specialized media write that the presentation will be held on June 12.
