MOSCOW, June 7 Moscow's Basmanny Court has remanded former Deputy Governor of Krasnodar Krai Sergei Vlasov in custody in a case of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale, the court's press service reported.
“By the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for the former Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Sergei Aleksandrovich Vlasov, accused of committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale), for a period of 1 month and 30 days, until August 5,” the agency's source said.
As the court indicated with reference to the investigation, Vlasov, while holding the position of Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, personally received a bribe from a person for general patronage and connivance in office, consisting of failure to take action on facts of illegal activity, use of authority or other opportunities when resolving the issues of the bribe giver.
