MOSCOW, June 8 The new director of the Sovremennik Theater Vladimir Mashkov said that the meeting with the theater troupe was fruitful and in a friendly atmosphere.
“The meeting was very fruitful, sensual. I told those who don’t know where I came from, who I am. I talked about the goals and tasks that we face. I answered questions, it seems to me, very carefully looked, studied… It seems to me that it was a very friendly, comradely atmosphere,” Mashkov told reporters.
He added that he was already familiar with many of Sovremennik’s artists before his appointment; in addition, he noted that the theater “has always been very close to him.”
Earlier on the website of the mayor and government of Moscow it was reported that Vladimir Mashkov would become the new director of the Sovremennik Theater. It is noted that Mashkov will retain his position at the Moscow Oleg Tabakov Theater.
