Like the “traditional” three-door, the extended hatchback is available with a choice of two gasoline engines. Prices have already been announced.
In the new generation, the Mini Cooper hatch essentially has two forms – electric and “hydrocarbon”. The electric car is built on a fresh platform, it was developed jointly with the Chinese company Great Wall. And the “traditional” compact retained the previous UKL1 “trolley” of the parent company BMW. The “green” new Mini Cooper debuted last year; the petrol three-door premiered at the beginning of 2024. Now it’s the turn of the five-door hatchback with an internal combustion engine.

In terms of design, all versions generally repeat each other. Exterior features include canonical rounded headlights and triangular taillights. Compared to the previous generation, the dimensions of the five-door have not changed much: length — 4036 mm, width — 1744 mm, height — 1464 mm, wheelbase — 2567 mm. Dimensions of the new petrol three-door: 3876/1744/1432 mm, distance between the axles – 2495 mm.
< p>Inside, the five-door Mini Cooper also copied its three-door brother. The main feature is the round screen of the multimedia system. Below is a block with buttons and levers. There is no separate tidy; its role is assigned to the head-up display. The trunk volume of the five-door is 275 liters; with the backs of the second row of seats folded, this figure will increase to 925 liters. The three-door petrol Mini holds 210-725 liters.

The engine range is also the same. The Mini Cooper C is equipped with a 1.5 petrol turbo-four (156 hp, 230 Nm), the Mini Cooper S has a 2.0 turbo-four (204 hp, 300 Nm). In both cases, the model is equipped with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, front-wheel drive only. A five-door with a base engine will reach the first “hundred” in 8 seconds, with a two-liter — in 6.8 seconds (the acceleration time of a three-door is 7.7 and 6.6 seconds, respectively).

European dealers are already accepting orders for the new five-door Mini Cooper. In Germany, for example, prices start at 29,900 euros (about 2.9 million rubles at the current exchange rate). A three-door hatch with an internal combustion engine now costs from 28,900 euros (2.8 million rubles), and an electric three-door hatch will cost Germans at least 32,900 euros (3.15 million rubles). Deliveries of the petrol five-door to customers should start before the end of summer.
