PARIS, June 12 The famous French singer Françoise Hardy died at the age of 80, reports BFMTV channel with reference to her relatives.
The singer’s son, musician Thomas Dutronc, left on her social media page with the text “Mom is gone”, accompanied by a photo with Hardy.
«Françoise Hardy is gone. The elegant singer, the icon of the sixties has died… A Frenchwoman with an iconic and timeless style, a leading figure in the yé-yé movement “I was 80 years old,” the TV channel reports.
As noted, the singer struggled with lymphoma for many years, and in 2019 she announced that she had been diagnosed with a new cancer. In March 2024, she announced that she would never be able to sing again.
Hardie's songs include Tous les garçons et les filles, Le temps de l'amour, Message personnel, and Voilà.
