MOSCOW, June 14 During the restoration of the mansion of the first US President George Washington, archaeologists discovered bottles filled with fruits and berries in the basement dating back to the 18th century, Newsweek reports with reference to the organization managing the historical monument.
““In the process of restoring… a mansion on a historic estate located in Virginia… researchers discovered 35 18th-century glass bottles in the cellar,” the publication writes.
According to the material, 29 of the 35 bottles remained intact and contain perfectly preserved fruits and berries, the age of which is estimated at approximately 250 years.
The publication notes that earlier researchers in the same basement had previously found two sealed bottles with liquid and cherries. The contents of all bottles found were recovered and frozen for further analysis.
