Murder of farmers' market director was disguised as a road conflict

The businessman was ordered by his partner for 2.5 million rubles.

It took detectives near Moscow a little more than a month to detain five suspects in organizing the attempted murder of the director of a Moscow market.

As MK learned, in February of this year, one of the co-owners of a farmers market in the north-east of Moscow decided to eliminate his partner in order to get his share in the business. To realize his plan, the 66-year-old villain turned to his friend and allocated him 2.5 million rubles to resolve all issues. The friend, in turn, found the perpetrators of the crime.

The bandits studied the daily routine and routes of movement of the victim. They planned to stage a traffic accident, during which a businessman was to be killed after a conflict between those involved in the accident. For this purpose, they specially purchased an inexpensive VAZ-2107 car.

On the night of May 4, choosing the right moment, one of the attackers on the highway in Pavlovsky Posad provoked an accident with the director’s car. The second attacker, leaving the VAZ, ran up to the victim’s foreign car and fired several shots at him, wounding him in the neck and arm. After this, the criminals fled. Eyewitnesses provided assistance to the victim, who was soon hospitalized. Now the man is under state protection.

As Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region, reported, as a result of investigative actions and operational search activities, a circle of people involved in the attempted murder was established. Several defendants were detained in the Krasnodar region, several in the Moscow region. A criminal case has been initiated under the articles “Preparation for a crime and attempted crime” and “Murder.”
