In recent years, off-road vehicles with coupe-like bodies — the so-called cross-coupes — have gained great popularity. However, among them there is not a single real frame SUV. We imagined what such a car based on the domestic UAZ Patriot could look like.
The Russian SUV UAZ Patriot has been produced since 2005; it is a redesigned version of the UAZ-3162 Simbir model, produced since 2000. During its long life on the production line, the Patriot received several updates, the last significant of which occurred in 2016. The SUV was originally designed with a 5-door station wagon body, and over the years no new types have appeared, with the exception of cargo-passenger modifications. We decided to depict the original version in the style of the so-called cross-coupes, which are in good demand, including in Russia.

The SUV shown in the renderings received a slightly increased rear overhang to slightly balance out the heavily raked rear window. The roof became lower and lost massive roof rails. In order to save money, the front part and the lights remained the same as those of a standard SUV, while the lower part of the trunk lid is completely original: there is now no spare wheel, and the license plate is located between the lights under a wide decorative horizontal insert, on which the model lettering is also pasted . In addition, the SUV is depicted in the signature orange color of the expedition modification.

UAZ Patriot is offered with a single engine — a 2.7-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine 150 hp The engine is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission (previously, the range also included an automatic version, and the online magazine Kolesa.ru tested it in the mountains of Azerbaijan). The recommended retail price of the base Patriot is 1,700,000 rubles, the version with the Limited package is estimated at 1,960,000 rubles.
