    The international festival “RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes” will open at VDNKh

    MOSCOW, June 28 The second international documentary film festival “RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes”, the program of which includes 13 films about the heroes of the Northern Military District , will be held in Moscow from June 28 to 30 at the “Russia” exhibition at VDNKh.
    The festival will open on Friday at 19.00 with the premiere of the film “Avdiivka. This is what war looks like.” The film was directed by Abas Ali-Zadeh and written by Olga Kiriy. The film tells the poignant stories of Avdiivka residents. The narrator will be a rescuer from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who pulled people out of destroyed basements. Each of the short stories is preceded by poems written by poets of Donbass, performed by People's Artists of Russia Vladimir Mashkov, Larisa Dolina and Evgeny Knyazev.

    The opening ceremony will feature performances by Dolina, the St. John's Wort group, poets Anna Dolgareva, Anna Revyakina, Olga Starushko, Vlad Malenko, Dmitry Filippov, Dmitry Melnikov, Dinara Kerimova, and the symphony orchestra of neoclassical composer Igor Skvortsov.

    The festival program includes 13 films about the heroes of a special military operation, soldiers and military doctors, front and rear volunteers, military correspondents and everyone who defends the Motherland.
    Six documentaries will be shown on Saturday. Among them is “I'm Going Home” directed by Vladislav Rytkov and written by Andrey Yashchenko. The film tells about the liberation of Artemovsk. The main character of the film is the deputy commander of a reconnaissance platoon, his father and son, civilians, were killed in 2014 in Ukraine. The commander left a good job and friends and went to fight. Now, in 2023, he liberates Artemovsk, taking old people, women and children out from under shelling.
    At 15.40 there will be a round table “Why do they say that there are no atheists in the trenches?” with the participation of journalist Boris Korchevnikov.
    At 17.40 on Saturday it is planned to show the film directed by Klim Poplavsky “White Orchestra. Assault”. The film is about the Avdeevka coke and chemical plant, which the Ukrainian army especially guarded from the very beginning of the assault on the city. And in the evening of the same day at 19.00 there will be a meeting with journalist Vladimir Solovyov “Russia today – a conversation about the main thing.” He will talk about what place Russia occupies on the political map of the world, what changes await society in the near future.

    On Sunday, June 30, seven more films about the special operation will be shown. In addition, there will be a panel discussion “War Documentary”.
    The closing ceremony of the festival will take place on the same day at 20.00.
