The live premiere of the top version of the British brand's SUV will take place next week as part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Jaguar Land Rover management decided to split LR into three separate brands in 2023 – Range Rover, Defender and Discovery. The Defender brand will unite several different models, which will have in common an angular exterior design style and off-road capabilities. By the way, the manufacturer is now already developing a junior model on the EMA electric vehicle platform with an 800-volt architecture.

The current L663 generation Defender remains the flagship of the new brand. Now the brand has introduced the top-end version of this SUV. The most powerful, fastest and most expensive version, based on the Defender 110, received the addition of Octa to its name. The first official teasers were published in March of this year, now the new product has been completely declassified.
Land Rover Defender Octa is equipped with a V8 biturbo engine developed by BMW, its volume is 4.4 liters, power is 635 hp, and maximum torque is 750 Nm. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission as part of a mild-hybrid system (with an “electric suspension” that acts as a starter-generator). The top SUV needs 4.0 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h. The maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h.
The variant with the Octa increase received a six-way adjustable 6D Dynamics suspension with hydraulic cylinders instead of anti-roll bars, as well as Brembo brakes, and the calipers have an emblem with the name of the version. The SUV is equipped with a system that automatically determines what surface the car is moving on and, depending on road conditions, optimizes the Defender’s performance. Drivers can also manually adjust steering, throttle and suspension settings.
The company said that the Land Rover Defender Octa is 28 mm higher and 68 mm wider compared to the regular Defender 110 (its dimensions are 4758 x 2008 x 1967 mm). The new version has a fording depth of 100 mm (1 meter) greater. The top-end SUV received 33-inch Goodyear Advanced All-Terrain tires, widened wheel arches, and a different design for the radiator grille and air intake at the bottom of the front bumper. The rear bumper is also new. Octa cars received a two-tone body with a black roof and tailgate.

The list of interior design options includes several additional finishes in other modern materials. In addition, new seats were developed for the Land Rover Defender Octa and a different sound system was installed.

Here, the cost of the Edition One version will be 160,800 pounds sterling (equivalent to approximately 18 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and the price of the regular Defender Octa version is 145,300 pounds sterling (approximately 16.3 million rubles).
