Shcherbinsky Elevator Plant (ShchLZ, part of the DOM.RF group) has surpassed the mark of 245,000 elevators produced since its foundation. The company produces a wide range of equipment of various types and purposes: from serial models of passenger cabins to cargo and specialized lifts, as well as elevators for medical institutions and individual premium projects.
“Last week, our plant passed the mark of 245,000 elevators produced, which is undoubtedly an important milestone in the history of the enterprise and proves the market’s commitment to quality domestic products. This significant figure is the result of the honest and conscientious work of our large team, the introduction of modern technologies, the modernization of production lines and the digitalization of business processes,” said Valentin Chernobaev, General Director of ShchLZ JSC.
The plant’s results are due to an increase in orders for elevator products in the first half of 2024 for the programs of regional Capital Repair Funds, where ShchLZ’s share is 30% of the total number of installed elevators, as well as growing demand for the new platform, presented in the spring at an exhibition in St. Petersburg. Another driver of product output growth was high-speed models of elevators for high-rise construction, the speed of which is more than 2 m/s.
The plant is conducting research and development work: this summer ShchLZ will receive certificate for the production of equipment with a speed of 4 m/s, and by 2025 it will complete testing of elevators with a speed of 8 m/s. In addition, the company is actively implementing an import substitution strategy, increasing the share of domestic components in its products, as well as launching the production of a gearless winch and a control station of its own production.
Over the past year, the company replaced about 30% machine park: 17 new machines were installed in the factory workshops, and by October 2024, two new automated production lines will be launched, which will increase the nominal production capacity to 15,000 elevators per year.
