MOSCOW, July 18 2022 Olympic champion Russian figure skater Anna Shcherbakova reported that she started skating for the first time after undergoing ankle surgery in March.
It became known earlier that Shcherbakova, who regularly performed in the show of the 2006 Olympic champion in figure skating Tatyana Navka, was not announced to participate in the play “Ruslan and Lyudmila,” which takes place in Sochi from June to October 2024. The figure skater underwent surgery in March due to an ankle injury. Later, Navka said that she was waiting for Shcherbakova, who was recovering from the operation.
«I came to Turkey for the training camp. And today is the first day I started skating,» Shcherbakova said in a video from the training session published on the Telegram channel.
Shcherbakova is 20 years old. She is a three-time Russian champion, world champion, and 2022 Olympic champion in the individual competition. Shcherbakova has not competed in a tournament since the 2022 Olympics.
