Porsche continues to expand its line of modifications to the third-generation Panamera liftback: the top-end Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which recently updated the Nürburgring record in class of executive cars, and the purely “hydrocarbon” Panamera GTS for connoisseurs of exciting handling.
The “third” Panamera made its world premiere in November last year — then the basic rear-wheel drive version, simply called Panamera, the all-wheel drive Panamera 4 and the all-wheel drive hybrid Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid were presented. In February of this year, the junior hybrid versions of the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid were declassified, and today the top hybrid version of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and the driver's Panamera GTS were presented — both have all-wheel drive. Thus, the main range of the liftback is fully formed, then we can only expect some special versions.

Let us remind you that the third-generation Panamera does not have a station wagon (Sport Turismo), but there is an Executive liftback with a wheelbase increased from 2950 to 3100 mm, which, however, is not available with all power plants. For example, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is available in both standard and extended body styles, while the Panamera GTS is only available in standard body styles.

Last week, namely on July 12, Porsche factory test driver Lars Kern, driving the short-wheelbase Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, set a new Nurburgring record in the Executive cars class: he drove the Nordschleife of the legendary circuit in 7 minutes 24.172 seconds . The previous record in this class has stood since 2020, it belongs to the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+ liftback and driver Demian Schaffert — 7 minutes 27.8 seconds.

The power plant of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid consists of a 4.0-liter petrol twin-turbo engine (599 hp, 800 Nm) and a hybrid superstructure standard for all rosette versions of the liftback: a single electric motor (190 hp, 450 Nm) is implanted 8-speed PDK automatic transmission. The maximum total output of the power plant is 782 hp. and 1000 Nm (the previous generation Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid had 700 hp and 870 Nm). The traction battery capacity is 25.9 kWh, the maximum electric range is 88 km in the WLTP cycle. The new top-end hybrid accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 325 km/h (in the previous generation it was 3.2 seconds and 315 km/h).

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid comes standard with carbon ceramic brakes, all-wheel steering and the electro-hydraulic Porsche Active Ride suspension. Meanwhile, the Nürburgring record was set with the optional Carbon Aerokit, which increases downforce, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 track tires specially developed for this model, measuring 275/35 ZR 21 at the front and 325/30 ZR 21 at the rear. In Germany, the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid starts at €229,400, with the Carbon Aerokit an extra €13,054.

The Panamera GTS has also become more powerful with the change of generations: the V8 engine here produces 500 hp. and 660 Nm instead of the previous 460 hp. and 620 Nm. Acceleration time to “hundreds” was reduced from 4.1 to 3.8 s, maximum speed increased from 292 to 302 km/h.
The main feature of the GTS version is the suspension that has been retuned in favor of more adventurous handling: the ground clearance has been reduced by a couple of millimeters, thicker anti-roll bars have been installed, the characteristics of the springs and the PASM adaptive shock absorbers standard for this version have been revised, while the manufacturer claims that the smoothness of the ride is practically unaffected .

The standard equipment of the Panamera GTS also includes a sports exhaust system with a dramatic sound, special exterior trim in matt black and 21-inch wheels with a central nut (the same , however, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is also included). The new Panamera GTS in Germany costs from 165,300 euros.
Orders for new versions of the third generation Panamera are already being accepted, deliveries of ordered cars to European customers will begin next fall.
