The refreshed sedan of the British brand will also receive a number of visual differences from the current version. So far, only one teaser has been published.
Previously, Bentley announced that by 2030 they intend to completely switch to electric vehicles, and before that — to transfer all models with traditional internal combustion engines to a line of plug-in hybrids. The current Flying Spur sedan already has a gas-electric version. Now the British manufacturer is developing an updated luxury four-door, the “filling” of which will also be a hybrid.

So far, the company is keeping the appearance of the refreshed sedan a secret, but it decided to lift the veil of secrecy with the help of one teaser. The published image does not fully show the front of the car. Judging by the photo, during the update the model will receive a slightly differently designed radiator grille (black and with a slightly modified mesh pattern). The signature winged figure is still placed at the top.

The sedan will retain the recognizable «four-eyed» head optics with a complex light pattern. Recall that the new Bentley Continental GT, presented at the end of last month, got rid of this design and received new oval-shaped headlights with protruding strokes of running lights. The main visual changes will probably be concentrated in the lower part of the front bumper, into which other air intakes are integrated.
The manufacturer has already talked about the “filling” of the refreshed Bentley Flying Spur: the sedan will share a plug-in hybrid setup with the recently debuted Continental GT coupe. At the heart of the Ultra Performance Hybrid system is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine working in tandem with an electric motor. The total output is 782 hp and the maximum torque is 1000 Nm.

It is known that the new system produces 147 hp and 100 Nm of torque more compared to the current version of the Flying Spur with a W12 engine. By the way, a similar power plant is also equipped with the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid sports car presented today.
The company also said that the updated version of the Bentley Flying Spur has a range of more than 72 km when driving only on electric traction, and the total range in hybrid mode (with a full tank and a charged battery) is more than 805 km. The company also said that the new model's CO2 emissions will be below 40 g/km.
There is no official information yet about what kind of traction battery will be included in the updated Flying Spur's hybrid system. It is possible that the new model also borrowed the battery from the current Continental GT Speed - its capacity is 25.9 kWh, and it will take 2 hours and 45 minutes to charge from an 11 kW outlet. New details about the refreshed sedan will probably appear in the next few weeks.
