According to the head of the German company, the four-door with a fully electric «filling» will appear in 2026. It is possible that it will be given the familiar name EQC.
Mercedes-Benz presented the current C-Class sedan and station wagon (factory index — W206) in February 2021, and in May of this year they underwent an update, which included a revised palette of body colors, additional interior design options and a new multimedia system. In the future, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will have a version with completely «green» technology.

As the CEO of the German brand Ola Källenius said, the electric version of the C-Class will appear on the market in two years (that is, around mid-2026). It is expected that such a new product will reach dealers at the same time as the related new «green» crossover Mercedes-Benz GLC. They will probably be based on the new MB.EA platform, which is designed for the brand's mid-size and full-size electric vehicles.
In turn, the entry-level model line will further consist of Mercedes-Benz CLA, GLA and GLB, they will be based on the new MMA «trolley». At the same time, the prototype of the new CLA in the status of a concept was already presented at the Munich Motor Show, which took place last fall. The head of the company confirmed that the production version will go on sale in 2025. It is known that the prices of the «junior» models will be increased, since the German manufacturer intends to increase their profitability.
Previously, spy photographers had already caught prototypes of the electric version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class during tests on public roads. Based on those pictures, the Kolesa.ru designer suggested what a completely “green” modification of the “C” would look like. Whether the artist’s ideas coincided with reality, we will find out in a couple of years.

It is possible that such a new product will be called EQC, because the electric crossover that “occupied” it earlier was retired. The fact that the SUV, which never became popular among fans of the brand, was decided to be discontinued, became known back in the summer of 2022. Now the name is free and may well be transferred to the “green” C-class sedan, although there has been no official confirmation of this yet.
Recall that at the end of July it became known that Mercedes-Benz intends to spend more than originally planned on the development of internal combustion engines, as well as on the restyling of the flagship S-Class sedan. At the same time, information has recently emerged that the German company has decided to reduce the production volume of the S-Class and EQS due to a decline in sales. The production of both models is set up at Factory 56, located in Sindelfingen (Germany): it is expected that in October of this year it will switch to one-shift operation.
The company continues to work on its «green» projects. Mercedes-Benz expects that by the end of this decade, half of sales should come from hybrids and electric vehicles. Note that it was previously assumed that this would happen by 2025.
