A state of emergency has been declared in regional forests throughout Tuva

MOSCOW, August 4 A state of emergency in regional forests has been introduced throughout Tuva due to ongoing hot and dry weather, said the head of the republic, Vladislav Khovalyg.
«We have made a decision to establish a state of emergency in regional forests throughout the entire territory of Tuva. Due to prolonged hot dry weather, a difficult situation has developed in the territories of the Pii-Khemsky, Chedi-Kholsky and Tandinsky districts,» he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The head of the republic noted that over the past 24 hours, four fires have been extinguished, another one has been localized, 23 fires are active, their total area does not exceed 2 thousand hectares. Heavy rains fell in some areas.

«The Tuva government's Emergency Situations Commission is coordinating all work. The forces and resources of the Ministry of Forestry and municipalities are closely cooperating. We have requested assistance from neighboring regions. Forest firefighters from Khakassia and Omsk are ready to arrive in Tuva,» Khovalyg added.
