Crimea police detained participants in the fight who attacked boxer Dmitry Dvali
Russian and European boxing champion Dmitry Dvali became the victim of a brutal attack in Feodosia. The athlete received a serious eye injury. The attackers were detained by the police.
According to information provided by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea, two young men born in 1998 and 2003 were detained on suspicion of participating in the beating of Dvali. The incident occurred on the morning of July 28, when the athlete and his friend witnessed an attack on a minor. By intervening in the conflict, Dvali himself became the target of aggression. As a result, he received serious injuries, including severe damage to the eye, which required his urgent transportation to Moscow for a complex operation.
Dmitry's coach, Ivan Shchelok, shared his feelings about what happened. He noted that the athlete, known for his courage and tenacity in the ring, could not stand by when he saw the crowd beating a defenseless boy. This act was not only an act of courage for him, but also, unfortunately, resulted in loss of health.
A mass brawl, in which, according to preliminary data, at least eight people participated, led to the initiation of a criminal case under articles “hooliganism” and “causing grievous bodily harm”. Law enforcement agencies continue the investigation to find out all the circumstances of the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
Support for Dmitry Dvali came not only from his coach and relatives, but also from the Russian Boxing Federation, as well as the International Boxing Association (IBA) . Athletes and boxing fans are worried and hope for a speedy recovery of the champion.
The Russian Boxing Federation is keeping the situation with Dmitry Dvali under control. Currently, Dmitry is undergoing treatment and is under the supervision of doctors.
