MOSCOW, August 14 The General Director of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White said that the former champion of the promotion, Irishman Conor McGregor, will not compete in 2024.
McGregor was supposed to fight American Michael Chandler on June 29 as part of the UFC 303 tournament, but withdrew due to injury. The Irishman had his last fight in July 2021, losing to American Dustin Poirier due to a broken leg. White previously reported that McGregor would not have his next fight until November.
«We talked to him about the fight. He really wants to fight. But not this year,» MMA Junkie quotes White as saying at a press conference.
The 35-year-old McGregor has 22 wins and six losses in professional martial arts. He previously held UFC championship belts in the lightweight and featherweight divisions.
