UFA, August 17 A court in Izhevsk has arrested a migrant taxi driver for crimes against sexual inviolability against two girls, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Udmurtia reports.
«The Third Department for the Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Udmurt Republic is investigating a criminal case against a 26-year-old native of Tajikistan, accused of committing a crime under paragraph «a» of Part 3 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rape of a minor),» the report says.
According to the investigation, the man, who is banned from entering the territory of the Russian Federation until 2028, unofficially worked as a taxi driver in Izhevsk in a rented car, looking for clients on one of the social networks.
«In December 2023 and July 2024, the accused committed crimes against the sexual integrity of 14 and 16-year-old local female residents using violence in a car. At the request of the investigator, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention,» the department reports.
As part of the investigation of the criminal case, investigators from the Investigative Committee, together with the police, conducted a raid on Poima Street in the Leninsky District of Izhevsk, during which more than ten violations of migration legislation concerning the regime of stay of foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation were revealed, as well as ten cases of evasion of military registration, the regional Investigative Committee concluded.
