Mitsubishi ASX successor: new official photos and videos

The premiere of the compact SUV is scheduled for August. Models tipped a one and a half liter aspirated.

Mitsubishi first announced its new cross at the very end of May, and here is a fresh batch of teasers. Recall that the serial embodiment of last year's Mitsubishi XFC concept is being prepared for the premiere, and Southeast Asia will become the debut market for the SUV. In fact, the SUV will be the successor to the long-obsolete ASX, but at the same time, Asian specialized media no longer write about the next generation: now they believe that it will be a separate model with the name Destinator, because this name was previously registered in Indonesia (but there is no official confirmation yet) .

Cross inherited a lot from the harbinger, although the product version was still simplified. For example, instead of cameras, the usual mirrors were installed, the radiator grille lost its mosaic pattern, and additional luminous elements were removed from the bumpers. In addition, contrary to expectations, the serial SUV did not get a full-fledged scoreboard, like the XFC: the touchscreen of the multimedia system and the digital instrument cluster were placed in one case, but the second screen was recessed.

It is stated that the ground clearance of the new SUV is an impressive 222 mm, but the rest of the dimensions have not yet been disclosed. For comparison, the length of the current global Mitsubishi ASX is 4365 mm, the wheelbase is 2670 mm, the ground clearance (in the Russian specification) is 195 or 215 mm (depending on the version).

The company itself has not yet spoken about the motor. Some Asian specialized media are predicting a 1.5 petrol four-cylinder aspirated model, but all-wheel drive is still in question. But it is known that the crossover will have a system for selecting driving modes, there are four of them: Normal, Gravel (gravel), Mud (dirt) and – for the first time for the brand – Wet (wet mode).
