An all-electric version of the German crossover was previously supposed to debut this year, but the premiere was postponed due to software problems .
The Porsche Macan crossover debuted at the end of 2013, this model turned out to be the second SUV in the range of the German brand (after the Cayenne). Recall that this SUV got its name from the Indonesian word, which translates as «tiger». The first generation Macan has already gone through several updates, the last facelift was in the summer of 2021. Now the company is working on a second-generation crossover: prototypes of the novelty have previously come across to photo spies.

It is known that the next generation Porsche Macan will have both versions with internal combustion engines and an all-electric modification. The company planned that for some time such cars would be produced simultaneously, but later versions with internal combustion engines will become a thing of the past, and the electric train will continue the life of the model. It was expected that this would happen in 2025-2026, but, apparently, the company has revised these plans. It is worth noting that the Macan EV will not debut this year, as originally expected, but in 2024: the company has problems with the software.

According to Automotive News Europe, the «shelf life» of the petrol Macan could be extended. We are talking, in particular, about the United States: it has recently become known that, according to users of electric vehicles, there are not enough charging stations in the country, which makes the operation of “green” cars unprofitable and uncomfortable. According to the publication, Porsche now wants to first see what sales of the Macan EV will be (after it is introduced and hits the market).
It is clear that the ICE variant will remain in service longer in case the sales of the «electric» are too low, because the Macan is one of the brand's best-selling cars. According to the publication, this information was announced to dealers during a meeting that took place in the Canary Islands. It is reported that during the event, dealers were also shown the Macan electric crossover and the updated Taycan: the premiere of both models should take place in 2024.

The Mission X concept was also on display at the dealer meeting. So far, Porsche has not said anything about this show car being the basis of a production hypercar, although it is possible that a successor to the 918 Spyder will be created based on it. The list of future innovations includes electric sports cars, which in 2025 will take the place of the current 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman. Also, the Porsche lineup will be replenished with a completely “green” version of the Cayenne and a flagship three-row SUV with electric “stuffing”. />Next-generation Porsche Macan rendering
Last autumn, Kolesa.ru designer imagined how the next-generation Porsche Macan would look like. It is expected that its exterior will be decorated in the style of the Taycan model, plus some features of the brand's concepts will be borrowed. So, the car can get narrow head optics with four horizontal strips of LEDs on each side, and the main headlight units will be built lower into the front bumper. It is assumed that the stern will be decorated with narrow lights, united by a luminous strip across the entire width of the tailgate. There is no official information about the engine lineup that the “regular” Macan of the new generation will receive yet. As previously reported, Porsche Macan EV will be equipped with upgraded electric motors, which will increase the efficiency of the entire system. As a result, the total system power of the new crossover will be 612 hp, and the maximum torque will be 1000 Nm.
