The small hatch has noticeably changed from the outside, there are also new things in the cabin, but they are rather modest. And in some places the engine range has been cut.
Signature photos of the upgraded Kia Picanto compact were leaked to the Web back in June, but only now such a hatchback is officially presented, and in two guises at once: in Korea, where the model is called Morning, they showed a standard five-door, and in Europe — a sported version of the GT- line. Recall that the current generation hatch has been in service since 2017, the current restyling is the second in a row for it — the first Picanto/Morning survived in 2020.

The front part of the hatchback was redrawn: the models got vertical LED headlights, while in expensive versions, the optics are also combined with a luminous strip; also replaced the hood, bumper and grille. The rear bumper, tailgate and lights have also changed (the latter are now also connected by a functional plate).

In addition, Kia Picanto received new design wheels (14-, 15- or 16-inch, depending on the version), plus an expanded body color palette. Chips performance GT-Line — a more aggressive body kit and standard 16-inch wheels. In some countries, the pre-reform model still has a cross-version of the X-Line, but this is not allowed for the restyled compact — at least not yet.

The only significant new thing in the cabin is a digital tidy (comes in rich versions, but this is not a full-fledged virtual screen). Well, other colors of finishing materials have also appeared, and multimedia can now be updated “over the air”. Electronic assistants have been improved: in particular, adaptive cruise control works using data from the navigator, the auto-braking system recognizes not only pedestrians, but also cyclists, and when reversing, the electronics monitor cross-traffic.

In Europe, which is curious, the motors also did not modernize — there is not even a hybrid makeweight. At the same time, the gamut of the “old-world” Picanto compact was cut down: the 1.0 T-GDI turbo engine was removed from it, the aspirated 1.0 MPI (67 hp) and 1.2 MPI (84 hp) remained, which are combined with a five-speed mechanics or a robotic gearbox with one clutch.
