On the eve of the British Festival of Speed in Goodwood, the Italian company Ferrari has declassified another project from the One-Off exclusive program — a KC23 track supercar based on racing Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020. For the Ferrari KC23, a completely original body was developed with movable aerodynamic elements and a removable wing.
The One-Off program is addressed to Ferrari's most loyal and wealthy customers, and dozens of unique models have already been made under this program, but, unfortunately, not all of them have been shown to the general public. An unnamed Ferrari KC23 customer has agreed to send their car to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which has become the most important event of the year for sports car manufacturers, so don't be surprised — there will be a lot of sports cars and supercars in the news this week.
The development of the Ferrari KC23 took more than three years, based on the chassis and power plant of the 2020 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo racing car, but the body is completely new, in which Ferrari designers, led by Flavio Manzoni, tried to anticipate the aesthetics of the racing models of the near future. If the original Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 has a purely functional and rather aggressive-looking aerodynamic body kit, then the KC23 body is designed taking into account the aesthetic values of road Ferraris, that is, it looks like a real work of art. At the same time, in order to maintain the required aerodynamic characteristics, it had to be equipped with movable aerodynamic elements on the sidewalls: opening flaps behind the front wheel arches increase downforce, and flaps in front of the rear wheel arches provide the engine with the necessary amount of air.

Even the design of the wheels is also designed taking into account the two configurations of the car: off the track, 18-inch ones are used, but in static and for a leisurely “cruise” ride — the unique two-tone wheels shown in the pictures with a diameter of 21 inches in front and 22 inches in the rear.

The elegant bodywork has a minimal amount of sharp edges and appears as if it is made of a single piece of metal, which is emphasized by four layers of Gold Mercury metallic paint with a liquid alloy effect. Completely new glazing creates the effect of an aviation dome. The lighting technology is also completely new, although the shape of the taillights is borrowed from the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo virtual car. Cameras are used instead of traditional exterior mirrors. The track essence of the Ferrari KC23 is given away by a developed front splitter, puffy sills and a complex rear diffuser. The interior is largely the same as the original 2020 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, but adds a few new features, including surround view screens and a passenger seat. The guillotine-style doors are reminiscent of those of the LaFerrari.
The specifications of the Ferrari KC23 have not been announced, it is only known that the donor Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 has a 3.9-liter V8 biturbo engine that produces a maximum of 600 hp and 700 Nm.

The cost of the Ferrari KC23, like other projects from the One-Off series, was not disclosed, but it is clear that it is in the millions of euros. Other examples of custom Ferraris we've covered before are the SP51, SP48 Unica, BR20 and P80/C.
