In terms of appearance, the commercial SUV will take a lot from its harbinger, but the interior will certainly be simplified. The world premiere is scheduled for September.
The Renault Scenic compact van was retired last year, but the brand does not refuse the brand’s iconic name for Europeans: in the same 2022, the French introduced the Scenic Vision concept electric cross-country vehicle, promising to bring it to to the conveyor. Well, the company kept its promise: the presentation of the commercial version, whose full name sounds like Renault Scenic E-Tech electric, will take place at the IAA Mobility exhibition, which opens in Munich in early September. Looking at branded shots of a disguised pre-production prototype should help brighten up the expectation.

Outwardly, the conveyor electrocross will largely repeat its predecessor. So, the Scenic E-Tech will have a similar silhouette, narrow LED headlights and diode “boomerangs” of running lights, plus almost the same “broken” taillights. However, there will be simplifications: ordinary mirrors will be installed instead of cameras, central pillars will appear, and handles will be on the doors (they will be made retractable). And of course, rear doors swinging open against the direction of movement will not go into the series.
The dimensions of the crossover have not yet been revealed. The concept is 4490 mm long, 1900 mm wide, 1590 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2835 mm.
The five-seater interior has not yet been exposed, but it will definitely not pass from the show car — the Scenic Vision had a too futuristic interior. Most likely, inside the SUV will repeat other recent models of the brand (among them, for example, the Renault Rafale cross-coupe and the Megane E-Tech electric car), that is, we are waiting for the virtual tidy and vertical touchscreen of the multimedia system combined into the letter L.

The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric will be based on the CMF-EV platform (on which Megane E-Tech is also built), so the crossover is likely to have several modifications that differ in power and range. The “cart” provides for the possibility of installing all-wheel drive (an electric motor on each axle), but we will find out whether such a version will get to the new Scenic after the premiere. Recall that the Scenic Vision concept still had a hydrogen plant, but the production version will most likely turn out to be a “regular” electric car.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Renault has given the name MPV to a crossover: the new Espace SUV, that is, the three-row Austral variant, debuted in the spring.
